Description of the course:

The main objective of the training course is to give the students basic understanding and tools on producing a short video-pitch to a school, a municipality, an investor or any other interested party: to write a script, plan, produce, shoot, edit and distribute a promo-video of a future art object.

On successful completion of this 5-day (30 hours) programme, participants should be able to:

• Demonstrate a basic understanding of storytelling techniques, tools and structures;
• Develop a script, a storyboard, a shot list or even a shooting schedule in order to be able to go into the production phase with a plan of necessary shots, gear, props etc.;
• Demonstrate an understanding of basic rules of visual storytelling while shooting any video: movement, camera angles, stabilization, etc.;
• Operate filming (lighting, sound, etc.) gear on a basic level;
• Utilize video software for post production purposes and understand basic editing rules, no-no’s and tools. Get acquainted with two editing programs as an example: professional Adobe Premiere Pro and amateur CapCut;
• Understand a video production process both as a whole and as a list of steps.
